Powerful winds associated with the approaching ”Extremely Catastrophic” Super Typhoon Mangkhut (OMPONG) is well underway across Batanes and Babuyan Island Group, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Isabela, Ifugao, Benguet, Nva. Vizcaya, Nva. Ecija, Quirino, Aurora, Pangasinan, Quezon & Polilio Island, Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Catanduanes, Bataan, Metropolitan Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Corregidor & Lubang Island, Occidental & Oriental Mindoro, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Ticao, Burias & Masbate Island, Marinduque, Romblon, Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran Island and Leyte bringing blustery to extreme wind conditions and High to Very High seas (9.0 to 16.0 m) and the Great Potential for Storm Surge/Coastal Flooding across the Whole Coastal Areas of Eastern, Northern and Central Luzon – Today through Saturday afternoon (September 15) The winds will be more frequent along the coastal and mountain slope areas of these affected provinces. Hence, the ORANGE, RED, & VIOLET (Severe Weather Warning) have been hoisted along these areas. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures against possible damaging winds of 75 to above 130 km/hr.
