WeatherPhilippines ranks as finalist in first LCF Guild Awards

WeatherPhilippines Foundations’ flagship campaign – Building a #WeatherWiser Nation – has been recognized as one of the top CSR Collaboration Projects among the members of the League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) during the LCF Guild Awards 2019.

Among the 245 entries submitted for the CSR Guild Awards’ six categories (Outstanding CSR Project for Enterprise Development, Education, Environment, Culture and Arts, Health, and Collaboration Projects), the #WeatherWiser Nation campaign was selected as one of the 29 top finalists.

The #WeatherWiser Nation campaign is highly collaborative approach towards building disaster-resilient communities in the Philippines. It was recognized as part of the five most outstanding collaborative projects by the LCF Guild Awards evaluation team because as it demonstrates how collaboration can greatly benefit communities nationwide. The campaign is an ongoing partnership between WeatherPhilippines and its founding members (Aboitiz Foundation and UnionBank), Platinum Sponsors (Ayala, LBC, La Filipina Uygongco, SM, International Container Services Inc., Nickel Asia Corporation, and Vistaland), Gold Sponsors, Service Partners, and Capacity-Building Partners.

“Our initiatives in WeatherPhilippines have always worked around our ultimate goal of building a #WeatherWiser Nation. We apply a collective approach that pools different resources to reach more communitie,” said WeatherPhilippines Foundation’s First Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (FVP & COO) Maribeth Marasigan.

Overall, WeatherPhilippines aims to complement the government’s nationwide efforts on disaster reduction by striving to make the Philippines #WeatherWiser and optimizing weather knowledge for socio-economic growth and progress.

The first LCF CSR Guild Awards is a recognition program of the League of Corporate Foundations. It is a seal of excellence in corporate citizenship given to the most reputable and premier organizations that are implementing social good initiatives with meaningful and sustainable impact to the communities and institutions they assist.
