WeatherPhilippines Graphical Satellite Analysis from 8pm May 15 until 8pm May 18, 2020

Warm EASTERLIES (EASTERLY TRADE WIND) is following behind SEVERE TROPICAL STORM VONGFONG (AMBO). It will continue to prevail across EASTERN section of LUZON, VISAYAS and MINDANAO which brings increases cloud cover, and the chances of occasional rain showers or thunderstorm, while the TROUGH (cloud extension) of #AmboPH is affecting much of the WESTERN LUZON, CENTRAL LUZON, EASTERN LUZON, METROPOLITAN MANILA, CALABARZON, SOUTHERN TAGALOG, CENTRAL VISAYAS, NORTHERN & EASTERN MINDANAO, bringing cloudy periods, and the possibility of light to at times moderate rain showers or thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, as of 7PM tonight, SEVERE TROPICAL STORM VONGFONG (AMBO) was last seen at about 36 km NNE of Quezon City, Metropolitan Manila ( 14.8 N lat 121.2 E long ). It is traversing Central Luzon tonight, and will bring heavy to intense rainfall with moderate to strong winds within the next 12 hours. Take all necessary preparations ahead of this storm.

THE REST OF THE COUNTRY will have partly cloudy skies to mostly cloudy periods and some chances of isolated to scattered rain showers or thunderstorms in some areas especially in the afternoon or evening.

**Residents are advised to be on alert for possible flashfloods, landslides or lightning strikes during the occurrence of Severe Thunderstorms.
