The NORTHEAST MONSOON (AMIHAN) continues to blow across BATANES – BABUYAN ISLAND GROUP and rest of NORTHERN LUZON, wherein partly cloudy to cloudy skies, cooler conditions with occasional drizzles, light to at times moderate rain showers can be expected in the mentioned areas. Fresh breeze to Gale-force winds of 35 to 70 km/hr will blow along these areas, making the seas moderate to high sea state, and is dangerous to all types of sea vessels to navigate on.
Meanwhile, TROPICAL DEPRESSION QUIEL (90W) upgraded from TROPICAL DISTURBANCE (LPA) was last seen at about 506 km W of LUBANG ISLAND and is forecast to move slowly Eastward for the 12-24 hours. Its broad circulation and TROUGH however, is bringing mostly cloudy to cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers or thunderstorms across NORTHERN LUZON, WESTERN LUZON, CENTRAL LUZON & EASTERN LUZON, including the KALAYAAN ISLAND GROUP (KIG), while SOUTHWESTERLIES (Southwesterly Surface Windflow) will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies, moderate to fresh breeze with isolated to scattered rain showers or possible thunderstorms across the remainder of PALAWAN, WESTERN VISAYAS & ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA.
THE REST OF THE COUNTRY will have clear to partly cloudy skies with chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms in some areas especially in the afternoon or evening.
**Residents are advised to be on alert for possible flashfloods, landslides or lightning strikes during the occurrence of Severe Thunderstorms.
Important note: In the infrared (IR) satellite image shown above: BLUE areas indicate Clear Skies with a Few Clouds; GREEN = Partly to Mostly Cloudy Skies; YELLOW = Mostly Cloudy to Hazy Skies with Possible Slight-to-Moderate Rainfall; and RED = Thunderstorms with Moderate to Heavy to sometimes Extreme Rainfall.
