The MONSOON TROUGH continues to extend from TROPICAL STORM TALAS (06W) all the way across LUZON, MINDORO, MARINDUQUE, ROMBLON, VISAYAS, NORTHERN and EASTERN MINDANAO…ending along a WEAK LOW PRESSURE AREA (LPA) located south of Palau. Mostly cloudy to cloudy (overcast) skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be expected along these areas.
Meanwhile, the surge of the SOUTHWEST MONSOON (HABAGAT) will continue to bring cloudy (overcast) skies with scattered to occasional rain showers and thunderstorms across the KALAYAAN ISLAND GROUP (KIG) and the WESTERN SEABOARDS OF PALAWAN. Winds from 35 to 50 kph will be expected along these areas making the seas moderate (2.0 to 3.0 meters) and risky to small and medium-sized sea vessels.
The REST OF THE PHILIPPINES will have partly to mostly cloudy skies with isolated to scattered rain showers or thunderstorms especially in the afternoon or evening in some areas.
**Residents are advised to be on alert for POSSIBLE FLASHFLOODS, LANDSLIDES OR LIGHTNING STRIKES during the occurrence of Severe Thunderstorms.
Important note: In the infrared (IR) satellite image shown above: BLUE areas indicate Clear Skies with a Few Clouds; GREEN = Partly to Mostly Cloudy Skies; YELLOW = Mostly Cloudy to Hazy Skies with Possible Slight-to-Moderate Rainfall; and RED = Thunderstorms with Moderate to Heavy to sometimes Extreme Rainfall.
