SOUTHWEST MONSOON (HABAGAT) enhanced by the quasi-stationary weak Low Pressure Area (LPA) located over the Ryukyu Islands will bring partly cloudy to cloudy (overcast) skies with scattered to occasional light to moderate to at times heavy rain showers and thunderstorms across THE BATANES AND BABUYAN ISLAND GROUP. Winds at moderate breeze to near gale (30-55 km/hr) will be expected across these areas, making the seas moderate to very rough (1.5 to 5.5 meters) and risky/dangerous to small and medium-sized sea vessels.
Meanwhile, SOUTHWESTERLIES (Southwesterly Surface Windflow/Weak Habagat) will bring partly to mostly cloudy skies with breezy conditions and some possible isolated light rain showers or thunderstorms across THE WESTERN SECTION OF NORTHERN LUZON.
THE REST OF THE COUNTRY will continue to be clear to mostly cloudy skies with chances of isolated to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in some areas especially in the afternoon or evening.
*There are no Tropical Cyclones spotted within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at this time.
**Residents are advised to be on alert for possible flashfloods, landslides or lightning strikes during the occurrence of Severe Thunderstorms.
Important note: In the infrared (IR) satellite image shown above: BLUE areas indicate Clear Skies with a Few Clouds; GREEN = Partly to Mostly Cloudy Skies; YELLOW = Mostly Cloudy to Hazy Skies with Possible Slight-to-Moderate Rainfall; and RED = Thunderstorms with Moderate to Heavy to sometimes Extreme Rainfall.
