TROPICAL DISTURBANCE (LPA) 91W together with its TROUGH, and enhanced EASTERLIES – will bring mostly cloudy to cloudy (overcast) skies with isolated, scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms across MINDANAO AND EASTERN VISAYAS. As of 2:00 PM today, the center of LPA 91W was located about 57 km East of Zamboanga City (6.9°N 122.6°E) and is expected to move Westward towards Sulu-Northern Borneo Area. This LPA still has a low chance (<35%) of developing into a Tropical Cyclone within the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, a new surge of the NORTHEAST MONSOON (AMIHAN) will bring partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies with occasional rain showers & possible thunderstorms across BATANES and BABUYAN ISLAND GROUP, AND COASTAL ILOCOS NORTE. The winds will be fresh to strong breeze (35 to 55 kph) with moderate to rough seas (2 to 4 meters), making it risky for small and medium sea vessels.
THE REST OF THE COUNTRY will continue to have clear to mostly cloudy skies with isolated to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms developing later.
Important note: In the infrared (IR) satellite image shown above: BLUE areas indicate Clear Skies with a Few Clouds; GREEN = Partly to Mostly Cloudy Skies; YELLOW = Mostly Cloudy to Hazy Skies with Possible Slight-to-Moderate Rainfall; and RED = Thunderstorms with Moderate to Heavy to sometimes Extreme Rainfall.
