The SOUTHWEST MONSOON (HABAGAT) has weakened gradually but continues to bring mostly cloudy to cloudy (overcast) skies with scattered, occasional to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms across the WESTERN SECTIONS OF CENTRAL AND NORTHERN LUZON, METRO MANILA, parts of MIMAROPA and the KALAYAAN ISLAND GROUP (KIG). Winds of 30 to 40 kph (moderate breeze to fresh breeze) will blow across these areas, making the seas moderate (1.5 to 2.5 meters) and dangerous to small sea vessels.
Meanwhile, the REST OF THE PHILIPPINES will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in some areas especially in the afternoon or evening.
**Residents are advised to be on alert for POSSIBLE FLASHFLOODS, LANDSLIDES OR LIGHTNING STRIKES during the occurrence of Severe Thunderstorms.
Important note: In the infrared (IR) satellite image shown above: BLUE areas indicate Clear Skies with a Few Clouds; GREEN = Partly to Mostly Cloudy Skies; YELLOW = Mostly Cloudy to Hazy Skies with Possible Slight-to-Moderate Rainfall; and RED = Thunderstorms with Moderate to Heavy to sometimes Extreme Rainfall.
