WeatherPhilippines Daily Graphical Satellite Analysis from 2pm August 23 until 2pm August 24, 2019

RAINBANDS of the approaching TROPICAL STORM BAILU (INENG) will bring mostly cloudy to cloudy (overcast) skies with scattered to widespread light to moderate to at times heavy rain showers and thunderstorms across EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON. Moderate breeze to near gale winds (30-55 kph) will be expected, becoming Tropical Storm-force winds of 60-100 kph along BATANES AND BABUYAN GROUP OF ISLANDS.

Meanwhile, TROPICAL STORM BAILU (INENG) was last seen over the southwestern part of the North Philippine Sea. As of 2:00 PM today, the center was located about 360 km ESE of Basco, Batanes (19.0°N lat, 125.1°E Lon), with maximum sustained winds of 85 km/hr with gusts of up to 100 km/hr near the center. It was moving generally west-northwestward @ 37 kph towards Batanes-Southern Taiwan Area.

SOUTHWESTERLIES/WESTERLIES (Southwesterly or Westerly Surface Windflow) will bring mostly cloudy to cloudy skies with breezy conditions and isolated to scattered rain showers or thunderstorms across THE REST OF LUZON, METRO MANILA, MIMAROPA, BICOL REGION, VISAYAS, SULU ARCHIPELAGO, AND KALAYAAN ISLAND GROUP.

THE REST OF THE COUNTRY will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of isolated to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in some areas especially in the afternoon or evening.

**Residents are advised to be on alert for possible flashfloods, landslides or lightning strikes during the occurrence of Severe Thunderstorms.
