NORTHEASTERLIES (Northeasterly Surface Wind Flow) bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered to occasional rain showers and thunderstorms across EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON.
Meanwhile, the TROUGH of incoming TYPHOON KONG-REY will bring mostly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across the BICOL REGION AND EASTERN VISAYAS including SIARGAO AND DINAGAT ISLANDS. At 11am today, the eye of Typhoon KONG-REY was located about 1,426 km East of Casiguran, Aurora (16.0N 135.4E), with maximum sustained winds of 165 km/hr near the center with higher gusts. It was moving WNW @ 11 km/hr towards the North Philippine Sea. This tropical cyclone will enter the eastern border of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) later this afternoon, but will not affect any part of the country based on its current forecast.
THE REST OF THE COUNTRY will continue to be clear to mostly cloudy skies with isolated to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in some areas especially in during the afternoon or evening.
**Residents are advised to be on alert for POSSIBLE FLASHFLOODS, LANDSLIDES OR LIGHTNING STRIKES during the occurrence of Severe Thunderstorms.
