TROPICAL DISTURBANCE (LPA) 96W [RAMIL] located about 119 km southeast of Coron, Palawan (11.1N 120.7E) together with its associated TROUGH will bring mostly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms across MiMaRoPa, CaLaBaRZon, METRO MANILA, BICOL REGION, SULU ARCHIPELAGO, NORTHERN AND WESTERN VISAYAS including KALAYAAN ISLAND GROUP (KIG). This LPA has a high chance (>65%) of becoming a Tropical Cyclone within the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the surge of the NORTHEAST MONSOON (AMIHAN) will continue to provide mostly cloudy to cloudy skies with light to moderate to at times heavy rain showers and thunderstorms along the EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON, and the NORTHERN AND EASTERN SECTIONS OF LUZON. Fresh to strong breeze of 30 to 50 kph will be expected along the NORTHERN AND EASTERN SEABOARDS of LUZON, making the seas moderate to rough. Sea travel along these areas will be risky and dangerous to small and medium-sized sea vessels.
The REST OF THE PHILIPPINES will have partly to mostly cloudy conditions with the possibility of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in some areas especially in the afternoon or evening.
**Residents are advised to be on alert for POSSIBLE FLASHFLOODS, LANDSLIDES OR LIGHTNING STRIKES during the occurrence of Severe Thunderstorms.
Important note: In the infrared (IR) satellite image shown above: BLUE areas indicate Clear Skies with a Few Clouds; GREEN = Partly to Mostly Cloudy Skies; YELLOW = Mostly Cloudy to Hazy Skies with Possible Slight-to-Moderate Rainfall; and RED = Thunderstorms with Moderate to Heavy to sometimes Extreme Rainfall.
