WeatherPhilippines Daily Graphical Satellite Analysis from 12pm August 15 until 12pm August 16, 2019

Moderate SOUTHWEST MONSOON (HABAGAT) enhanced by SEVERE TROPICAL STORM KROSA which is now making landfall over Western Japan will continue to bring mostly cloudy to cloudy (overcast) skies with isolated to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rain showers and thunderstorms across BATANES AND BABUYAN ISLAND GROUP, ILOCOS NORTE, ILOCOS SUR, AND ABRA. The winds will be at moderate breeze to gale force (30-65 km/hr), making the seas moderate to high (1.5 to 5.5 meters) and very risky/dangerous to all sea vessels.

Meanwhile, SOUTHWESTERLIES (Southwesterly Surface Windflow/Weak Habagat) will bring clear to mostly cloudy skies with breezy conditions and some possible isolated light rain showers or thunderstorms across METRO MANILA, CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN LUZON, BICOL REGION, MIMAROPA, KALAYAAN ISLAND GROUP, SULU ARCHIPELAGO, AND PANAY.

THE REST OF THE COUNTRY will  continue to be clear to mostly cloudy skies with chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms in some areas especially in the afternoon or evening.

*There are no Tropical Cyclones spotted within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at this time.

**Residents are advised to be on alert for possible flashfloods, landslides or lightning strikes during the occurrence of Severe Thunderstorms.
