Current Status and Outlook | Typhoon (TY) KONG-REY continues to rapidly intensify as it entered the eastern border of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) with local name “QUEENIE.” This typhoon is not expected to directly affect any part of the country, but its western trough will bring isolated to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas.
TY KONG-REY is expected to continue moving northwestward across the southern part of the North Philippine Sea through the next 24 hrs and could become a Super Typhoon (STY) by Tuesday afternoon (Oct 02). |
