Current Status and Outlook | The small Tropical Disturbance (LPA) over the North Philippine Sea, east of Northern Luzon has rapidly developed into a Tropical Depression this morning and is now Tropical Storm NANMADOL (EMONG). This storm is not a threat to the Philippines and will eventually exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by tomorrow morning (Monday, July 03). |
Where is Nanmadol (Emong)? | As of 11:00 AM PhT today, July 02…0300 GMT. The center was located over the North Philippine Sea (near 21.2N 126.5E), about 478 km east-northeast of Basco, Batanes or 423 km south-southeast of Ishigakijima. |
How strong is it? | Maximum Sustained Winds (10-min avg): 65 kph near the center…Gustiness: 85 kph |
Where is it heading? | It was moving Northwest @ 36 kph, towards Yaeyama Island Chain. |
