Current Status and Outlook

HAITANG (HUANING) has made its final landfall over Fujian Province, Southern China this morning. Rapid dissipation of this depression into a remnant LPA is expected through the next 12 to 24 hours. Its decaying rainbands will continue to dump rains, thunderstorms and gale-force winds across the Chinese provinces of Fujian, Jiangxi, Hubei and parts of Zhejiang.

*This will be the Final Update on this tropical cyclone.

*The combination of TD HAITANG and the strong surge of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring occasional rains, gusty winds, and thunderstorms with large surfs across Taiwan.

Where is HAITANG (HUANING)? As of 11:00 AM PhT today, Jul 31…0300 GMT.  The center was located over the eastern part of Fujian Province, Southeastern China (near 26.1N 118.9E), about 39 km west of Fuzhou City, China or 703 km north-northwest of Basco, Batanes.
