TROPICAL DISTURBANCE 92W (LPA) [LUIS] STORMWATCH NO. 01

|Current Status and Outlook||A slow-moving Tropical Disturbance (LPA) dubbed as 93W [LUIS] currently located over Western Taiwan is showing signs of development, and is likely to become a Tropical Depression (TD) within the next 06 to 24 hours. However, this system is not a threat to the Philippine Islands, and is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday or Saturday (Aug 24 or 25).
This disturbance will induce the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and bring isolated, scattered to occasional rains and thunderstorms across the western sections of Central and Northern including Batanes abd Babuyan Islands through the weekend.
