TROPICAL DEPRESSION VONGFONG (AMBO) UPDATE NO. 20 [FINAL]

Current Status and Outlook

VONGFONG (AMBO) has weakened into a Tropical Disturbance (Low Pressure Area) while moving slowly north-northeastward across the western part of the Bashi Channel.

12-hr Outlook: TD VONGFONG (AMBO) is forecast to accelerate northeastward @ 16 km/hr and will continue to decay as it traverses the Luzon Strait and East Taiwan Sea.

Where is VONGFONG (AMBO)? As of 5:00 AM PhT today, May 17…2100 GMT. The LPA was located over the western part of the Bashi Channel (near 20.0°N 120.0°E), about 171 km west-northwest of Calayan Island, Cagayan or 215 km west-southwest of Basco, Batanes.
