TYPHOON LEKIMA (HANNA) STORMWATCH NO. 07 [FINAL]

|Current Status and Outlook||LEKIMA (HANNA) has been downgraded into a Typhoon (TY) after briefly reaching Super Typhoon (STY) status yesterday…now well outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) after traversing the Yaeyama Island Group and Miyako-jima last night. This typhoon is forecast to make landfall over Zhejiang Province, China within the next 24 hours.

The presence of this typhoon will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and bring generally cloudy conditions with “on-&-off” rains and thunderstorms across MiMaRoPa and the Western Sections of Luzon including Metro Manila today through Saturday (Aug 10).
|Where is LEKIMA (HANNA)?||As of 5:00 AM PhT today, August 09…2100 GMT. The eye was located over the southern part of the East China Sea [near 26.1°N 123.9°E], about 627 km north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes or 1,315 km north-northeast of Metro Manila.|
|How strong is it?||Maximum Sustained Winds (10-min avg): 205 kph near the center, with gustiness: 250 kph.|
|Past Movement (06 hrs)||North-Northwest @ 24 kph, towards the Zhejiang Province (Southeastern China).|
