The Rain Bands associated with Tropical Depression PODUL (JENNY), the Westerlies (Westerly Surface Windflow) and the Southwesterlies (Weak HABAGAT) continues to bring moderate to extreme rainfall (30 to more than 100 mm) across Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Zambales, Pampanga, Bataan, Corregidor Island, Cavite, Batangas, Lubang Island, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Semirara Islands, Romblon Islands, Palawan, Calamian Group, Group of Coron Island, Cabulauan islands, Quiniluban Group, Cuyo Islands, Cagayancillo Islands, Kalayaan Island Group, Antique, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras Island, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Lanao Del Sur & Maguindanao, Tawi-Tawi Islands, Sulu Islands, Basilan Island, Zamboanga Del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga Del Sur & Lanao Del Norte – Today through Thursday morning (August 29). The rains will be more frequent along the coastal and mountain slope areas of these affected provinces. Hence, the ORANGE, RED, & VIOLET Rain Alert (Severe Weather Warning) have been hoisted along these areas. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides. Elsewhere, the Severe Weather Warning has been lowered.
