The sheared rainbands of Tropical Depression 35W (USMAN) is struggling under the cold surge of the Northeast Monsoon (AMIHAN) bringing moderate to extreme rainfall (30 to more than 100 mm) across Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Abra, Isabela, Aurora, Quirino, Nva. Ecija, Quezon, Polilio, Bulacan, Metropolitan Manila, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro & Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Burias, Romblon, Quiniluban & Cuyo, Dumaran, Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Ticao, Masbate, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental & Cebu – Today through Saturday evening (December 29). The rains will be more frequent along the coastal and mountain slope areas of these affected provinces. Hence, the ORANGE, RED, & VIOLET Rain Alert (Severe Weather Warning) have been hoisted along these areas. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides. Elsewhere, the Severe Weather Warning have now been lowered.
