The thick rain bands associated with the combined effects of the surge of the NORTHEAST MONSOON (AMIHAN), TROPICAL DISTURBANCE (LPA) 96W [URDUJA] and the prevailing WESTERLIES (WESTERLY WIND FLOW) is bringing Moderate, Heavy to Extreme Rainfall (30 to more than 100 mm) over parts of Cagayan, Isabela, Mindoro, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Albay, Burias & Ticao Is., Samar, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Biliran Is., Cebu, Bohol, Camiguin & Siquijor Is., Negros Occidental & Negros Oriental, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo & Guimaras Is., Cuyo & Cagayancillo Is., Palawan, Kalayaan Is. Group (KIG), Siargao & Dinagat Is., Surigao Del Norte, Surigao Del Sur, Agusan Del Norte & Agusan Del Sur, Surigao Del Norte & Surigao Del Sur, Bukidnon, Lanao Del Norte, Zamboanga Del Norte, Pilas Group, Maguindanao, Sultan Kudarat and Sarangani – beginning tonight through Thursday evening (December 14). The rains will be more frequent along the coastal and mountain slope areas of these affected provinces. Hence, the ORANGE, RED, and VIOLET Rain Alerts (Severe Weather Warnings) have been hoisted along these areas. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides.
