A broad and thick rain bands associated with the Trough of Weak Low Pressure Area (LPA) near the southeastern coast of Davao Oriental will bring moderate, heavy to extreme rains across the southern portions of Samar, southern part of Leyte and Southern Leyte, Eastern Bohol, Dinagat and Siargao Islands, Surigao and Agusan Provinces, Northern part of Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental including Camiguin today through Sunday afternoon (Jan 29). The rains will be more frequent along the coastal and mountain slope areas of these affected provinces. Hence, the VIOLET, RED and ORANGE Rain Alerts (Severe Weather Warnings) have been hoisted along these areas. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods, lightning strikes and landslides.
