The thick rain bands associated with the TROUGH of TROPICAL STORM HATO (ISANG) is upon Batanes Island Group and Babuyan Island Group, Cagayan, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra and La Union, while the SOUTHWEST MONSOON (HABAGAT) is slowly developing across the Western seaboards of the country affecting Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Metropolitan Manila, Rizal, Corregidor Is., Cavite, Batangas, Maricaban Is., Occidental Mindoro, Semirara Is., Romblon Is., Quezon, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Burias Is., Masbate Is., Boracay Is., Aklan, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras Is., Negros Occidental, Cuyo Is., Cagayancillo Is., Calamian and Coron Is. Group, Palawan, including the Northern part of the Kalayaan Is. Group (KIG) today through Tuesday afternoon (August 22). The rains will be more frequent along the coastal and mountain slope areas of these affected provinces. Hence, the RED and ORANGE Rain Alert (Severe Weather Warnings) have been hoisted along these areas. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides.
