Tropical Disturbance (LPA) 99W and its Trough will bring moderate rains across Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Masbate, Biliran, Samar Provinces, Leyte Provinces, and Dinagat Islands today through Monday afternoon (July 24). The rains will be more frequent along the coastal and mountain slope areas of these affected provinces. Hence, the ORANGE Rain Alert (Severe Weather Warning) have been hoisted along these areas. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides.
Meanwhile, the thick rainbands associated with combined effects of Southwest Monsoon (HABAGAT) and TROPICAL DISTURBANCE (LPA) 99W has already receded and gradually dissipated and are no longer expected to bring moderate to at times heavy rains over Western sections of Ilocos Region, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Lubang Island, and Romblon, Aklan, Iloilo, and Guimaras, Northern sections of Kalayaan Islands, Palawan, Misamis Oriental, Agusan del Norte, and Surigao Provinces, Southern sections of Bohol and Camiguin and Antique. Hence, the ORANGE Rain Alert (Severe Weather Warning) previously hoisted across these areas are now terminated.
