The thick rainbands associated with both the EASTERLIES (EASTERLY TRADE WINDS) and the SURFACE TROUGH are bringing moderate to at times heavy rains across Southern part of Samar, Leyte province, Southern portion of Biliran Is., Northern and Eastern part of Cebu and Bohol, Camotes Is., Eastern part of Aklan, Central and Eastern portion of Capiz, Northeastern and Central part of Iloilo province, Northern and Eastern section of Negros Occidental, Northern Negros Oriental, Dinagat and Siargao Is., Surigao Del Norte and Surigao Del Sur, Eastern part of Agusan Del Norte and Agusan Del Sur, Eastern portion of Davao Del Norte and Compostela Valley, Davao Oriental, Southern part of Davao Occidental and Sarangani province, Southern portion of Lanao Del Norte and Lanao Del Sur, Southern and Western section of Cotabato, Northern part of Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat, Zamboanga Sibugay, Western portion of Zamboanga Del Norte and Zamboanga Del Sur, Sulu Is., Tawi-Tawi Is., Southern and Central part of Palawan, including Cagayancillo Is. and the Kalayaan Island Group (KIG) today through Saturday morning (May 13). The rains will be more frequent along the coastal and mountain slope areas of these affected provinces. Hence, the ORANGE Rain Alert (Severe Weather Warning) have been hoisted along these areas. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides.
