The thick rain bands associated with TROPICAL DISTURBANCE (LPA) 97W and its TROUGH are expected to bring Moderate, Heavy to Extreme Rainfall (30 to more than 100 mm) over Eastern Isabela, Quirino, Southeastern Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Southern Zambales, Bataan, Quezon incl. Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Central and Northern Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Burias Island, Rizal, Batangas, Laguna, Cavite, Metro Manila, and the Western Coast of Occidental Mindoro – beginning today through Tuesday morning (September 12). The rains will be more frequent along the coastal and mountain slope areas of these affected provinces. Hence, the ORANGE, RED, and VIOLET Rain Alerts (Severe Weather Warnings) have been hoisted along these areas. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides.
