The combined effect of Strong surge of the Southwest Monsoon (HABAGAT) with the approach of SEVERE TROPICAL STORM NESAT (GORIO) is having its impacts felt across Batanes Island Group bringing blustery wind conditions and High to Very High seas (5.5 to 9.0 m) within today through Saturday afternoon (July 29). The winds will be more frequent along the coastal and mountain slope areas of these affected provinces. Hence, the ORANGE Wind Alert (Severe Weather Warning) have been hoisted along these areas. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures against possible damaging winds of 71 to 100 km/hr.
